About This Book

One-Step Sparring is far more than just a training method—it is one of the fundamental pillars of Taekwondo and the crucial link between Basic Techniques, Forms, Sparring, and Self-Defense. One-Step Sparring—known in Korean as Hanbon-Kyorugi, Ilbo-Taeryon, or Ilbo-Matsogi—is considered the most advanced and refined form of Step Sparring. Grandmaster Ioannis Lerakis presents what is likely the most extensive work ever published on the subject of One-Step Sparring. This book explores its background, development, variations, and its significance and benefits within Taekwondo. It is written for instructors, masters, students, and practitioners who not only wish to train (One-) Step Sparring, but truly understand its depth.
